Floor truss design

Underneath, 2x6 strongbacks laid on edge should run continuously through the webs of all the trusses at 10-ft. intervals (one run for a 20-ft. truss, two runs for longer trusses). The 2x6 serves the same purpose as bridging in a standard floor, distributing concentrated loads over a wider area. The design of the trusses means a wide, stable surface that is easy to work on and around. Spacing at either 19.2″ or 24″ means both the floor and building will have additional structural integrity. Additional details can be easily built in, such as special bearings, cantilevers, and balcony details.
Floor truss systems are sometimes called System 42's, because to build them manufacturers turn the 2x4's on their side. This allows for shallow depths as well as a 3 1/2" nailing surface. Some floors are built from 3x2's, others from 2x4's. Floor trusses can be manufactured with many different possible end conditions to accommodate different Component Runner, LLC is your best outsourcing solution for Floor and Roof Truss design.
