Hi guys, welcome to today’s tutorial. Today, we will look on how to use the 1.8″ ST7735 colored TFT display with Arduino. The past few tutorials have been focused on how to use the Nokia 5110 LCD display extensively but there will be a time when we will need to use a colored display or something bigger with additional features, that’s where the 1.8″ ST7735 TFT display comes in. The Arduino TFT library extends the Adafruit GFX, and Adafruit ST7735 libraries that it is based on. The GFX library is responsible for the drawing routines, while the ST7735 library is specific to the screen on the Arduino TFT. The Arduino specific additions were designed to work as similarly to the Processing API as possible. Onboard the screen is a SD card slot, which can be used through the SD library.
The Adafruit_GFX library for Arduino provides a common syntax and set of graphics functions for all of our LCD and OLED displays. This allows Arduino sketches to easily be adapted between display types with minimal fuss…and any new features, performance improvements and bug fixes will immediately apply across our complete offering of color displays. If I dont use a for loop to plot the graph, my graph only plots 1 pixel, if I use the for loop, the graph plots as it should (480 pixels out the x axis), but it locks down the rest of the program while plotting, this is not what I want, because it would lock up, and prevent the rest of the program to run as it should – eXistenZ Mar 15 '16 at 9:17
